Aluminum Heat Treating
Heat Treatment of Aluminum Parts
Aluminum Heat Treating is an example of in-house processes available when we're called upon to provide additional treatment to aluminum parts: annealing, solution, treating, stress relieving, aging, and glycol quenching.
Precision - It's how we do aluminum heat treating RIGHT.
Jones Metal's aluminum heat treating team processes aluminum parts to meet the stringent demands of our aerospace and commercial customers. Services include solution heat treating, aging, stress relieving, annealing, quenching, and cryogenic treatment of wrought aluminum sheets, plates, hydroformed parts, deep drawn shapes, and some forgings.
We have recently boosted our aluminum heat treating capacity with a new 5ft. x 6ft. x 17ft, 800° F Wisconsin Batch Oven, allowing us to offer excellent turn-around times.
For precision treatment of aluminum parts and dependable delivery, count on the people who do heat treating right.

Recco Drop Bottom Furnace
The Recco Drop Bottom Furnace provides solution heat treating, aging, partial and full annealing and stress relieving with polymer solution and air quenching options. The furnace is capable of treating a wide range of materials including aluminum alloys 2024 0, 2024 clad, 6113, 6061 0, Q7075 and E357 cast aluminum. With its precise controls and flexibility, the furnace meets the delivery and quality requirements of demanding automotive and defense aluminum heat treating applications.
“Enginetics began using Jones Metal about two years ago for the majority of our aluminum heat treating needs. We are very pleased with both the product supplied and the level of service realized.”
— Chris Eisen, Enginetics, Inc.
The 44"x44"x92" Recco drop bottom furnace develops operating temperatures up to 1000F. Load capacity is 900lbs.
The associated quench tank contains an 18% polymer solution.
The rinse tank uses de-ionized water.
Cincinnati SubZero Freezer
The Cryogenic Unit preserves heat treated materials at a specified state of softness so that they can be delivered to the customer just in time for further processing. This capability improves work flow and scheduling and provides operational flexibility.
“We require a ‘W’ condition of the 6061-T specification which necessitates the return of parts on dry ice to facilitate our internal forming operations. The parts are returned on a timely basis and in good shape. We’re pleased to use Jones Metal as one of our Teaming Suppliers.”
— Chris Eisen, Enginetics, Inc.
The 38"x48"x60" Cincinnati SubZero Freezer maintains temperatures at -10F or below.
Wisconsin Batch Oven
A new Wisconsin Batch Oven adds capacity and flexibility to the Jones Metal aluminum heat treating department and positions the company to better meet demanding applications in aerospace, defense and other markets. It can be used for both aging and stress relieving and enables Jones Metal to meet tighter delivery schedules. The oven is designed primarily for heat treating wrought aluminum sheets, plates and parts.
“To meet our customers’ demands, we need to work with a company that can respond immediately and deliver quality consistently. Jones Metal has done a great job.”
— Jack Spencer, The Crosby Company.
The 5'x6'x17' Wisconsin Batch Oven is capable of temperatures up to 800F.
